Since starting website design I have been able to create some of my own. Looking back now, from my first website to my most recent I can most definitely say I’ve gotten much better at creating them. Now that I know all the equipment, tools and overall the whole contrast of creating a website I have improved a lot in that area, though there is still much to learn. I’m excited to continue moving forward in this area of work so that hopefully it becomes a job in the future. But for now these are the websites I’ve done so far, counting this one.
First Website
My first website was to create any website of my choosing. In which I choose a clothing brand. I called it Today’s Clothes. Starting this task involved making a domain for it, finding a theme which is a pre-designed collection of files that controls a website’s visual appearance and overall style, including its color scheme, layout, and other visual elements. Themes are like a starting point or framework for a site’s design, that gives ready-made design parts that can be quickly customized. After finding a theme I started to work on the websites pages, like the homepage, the services/products page, a contact page etc. and the rest was just adding extra things you would find in a website like a footer that contains the location, contact information and the hours of your business.
Most recsent
The most recent website I’ve done was a pet adoption website. This is a very fun website to make because I got to add all the cute and furry animals and name them all. I called the website Pets For You. I spent a lot of my time on this website because I really wanted it to look like a real website as much as possible and professionally. I added as much information as I could that would normally be seen on a real pets adoption website, including how to get involved, how to donate, volunteer and foster .
Others
In between my first and most recent website I’ve done other websites like a website for a band. I needed a website where I could add a membership so that I could learn how to do that. I created a fake band called the Street Kids and created a page with merch for that band and in order to access the merch page customers would need to fill a form to get to it. Another thing I did was to create a blog. I chose a cooking blog where I could share recipes on it and talk about it. I’m not a cook myself so I decided to just add dessert recipes because I have a crazy sweet tooth. I ended up calling the blog Sweet Tooth too.
I really enjoyed working on all these websites and learning from them, and I hope to one day use these new skills in the future.
